Turkmen agribusiness is interested in the mastering of advanced Argentinean technologies.

On the 23rd of July, a meeting was held at the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs with the delegation of the National Agricultural Technology Institute (INTA), headed by the President of this structure Juan Balbin.

The Argentine side was acquainted with the activities of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, its role in the economic transformations carried out in Turkmenistan and were also informed about the achievements of Turkmen entrepreneurs and their export opportunities.

Juan Balbin, for his part, told about the activities of INTA – a major scientific-research institution of Argentina, established in 1956 in order to promote the development of scientific researches and expansion of agricultural activity. It was noted that the financing of INTA scientific topics are carried out essentially at the expense of the business, which is the customer of scientific researches and accordingly is interested in their implementation.

In the course of the conversation, the emerging trend was outlined regarding the expansion of trade and economic relations between the two countries, taking into account the ever-increasing export potential of Turkmenistan and Argentina’s wide experience in agriculture, animal breeding and energy.

The participants of the meeting expressed interest in cooperation, involving interaction in such areas as a selection of grain and vegetable crops, food safety, and biotechnology, exchange of experience in the implementation of innovative technologies. In this regard, it was emphasized the expediency and efficiency of organizing the regular business forums and meetings between the business circles of the two countries.

Guests were hosted by the members of the board of the TUIE, heads of the International, Agriculture and the Agro-Industrial Complex Departments, the “Rysgal” newspaper and entrepreneurs engaged in agricultural sphere.

The representatives of the top management of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Argentine Republic in Turkmenistan (residence in Moscow) Ricardo Ernesto Lagorio, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit, were also participated in a meeting.
