TUIE and business circles of Astrakhan are aimed at enhancing cooperation.
On August 11, the first meeting of the Turkmen-Astrakhan Council on Entrepreneurship was held in the conference hall of “Deniz” Hotel of “Avaza” NTZ. The meeting was one of the events held as part of the First Caspian Economic Forum.
The delegation of the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation included the heads of the largest enterprises, companies engaged in various sectors of the economy, as well as specialists from specialized structures.
During the meeting of the Council, which was also attended by representatives of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, proposals for promising areas of cooperation and a work plan for the second half of this year and 2020 were discussed.
As part of an exchange of views on the prospects for expanding partnerships, the meeting participants spoke in favor of establishing full-scale cooperation, taking into account possible participation of companies in the implementation of new large-scale projects initiated by the President of Turkmenistan.
Among the priority areas are the trade and economic sphere, the fuel and energy, transport and communication sectors, agriculture, as well as the digitalization of the economy and the introduction of innovations.
The subject of discussion was the issues of strengthening productive contacts of business circles, stimulating investment activity, increasing volumes of commodity circulation and expanding it's nomenclature.
Speaking during the meeting, the head of “Turkmen Logistic Association” ES, the head of the logistics and the transport department of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan voiced specific proposals for promising areas of cooperation, which found support in discussing the Council’s work plan for the coming years.
The Turkmen-Astrakhan Business Council on Entrepreneurship was created during the 11th meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Russian Commission on Economic Cooperation in May of this year.
